I'll get a ride (by car) to Jamestown NY over Labor Day weekend, and then I'll try to get to Cleveland to see friends (maybe Amtrak from Buffalo). My problem arises if I want to go on to the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Canada. It takes a lot of effort to find FAST transport that would conserve time, as buses take forever. Then I'll have to return to Madison as well.
These are the kind of experiences that others might report...you don't have to solve my problem...I use this as an example. In Europe or Japan, public transport would be the answer!
